Critical Care Nursing

A critical care nurse, also sometimes referred to as an ICU nurse, is a category of nurse that provides treatment for critically ill patients. Such types of nurses may take care of adults or children suffering from severe medical conditions including diseases and injuries. Many critical care nurses also work in wards or facilities that only care for patients with specific medical conditions, such as burning units of critical care. Critical patients are often considered psychotic, often unconscious, with vital signs that are erratic or extremely unhealthy. Many of these patients may also be near death. For this reason, the care given to critical patients should be top-notch and highly specialized
